EXPORT CAPABILITY SURVEY TO SERVICE THE PACIFIC REGION
E X P O R T S U R V E Y
Tradelinked Cairns-PNG-Pacific is seeking your support to develop a comprehensive FNQ Export Capability Profile to Service the Pacific Region through your participation in a short survey.
Information is key to understanding the development potential of our region and helping to grow jobs and opportunities for Cairns and the Far North region. The data collected from the survey will be used to quantify, highlight and emphasise the value of the Papua New Guinea and Pacific region trade to Cairns – not only in terms of economic value but also to capture the social and cultural value of trade to the region.
The results will be reported in such a way that confidentiality is maintained but will give accurate and up-to-date quantitative and qualitative data. This data will be used to shape and strengthen requests to Local, State and Federal Governments for resourcing and assistance to continue to identify and develop business opportunities in the sale of goods, services and labour within the PNG and Pacific markets.

FAR NORTH QUEENSLAND EXPORT CAPABILITY PROFILE TO SERVICE THE PACIFIC REGION
P R O J E C T S T A T E M E N T
Tradelinked Cairns-PNG-Pacific has been successful in securing funding to develop a FNQ Export Capability Profile to Service the Pacific Region. This profile will examine the capacity of our local businesses and organisations to step up and be part of a broader service centre offering to our Pacific neighbours. It will also provide a consistent marketing message of capability across the Region.
To undertake this work, Tradelinked has engaged the services of the Exchange Innovation and Information Centre (EIIC) in Cairns. Deb Maguire, Facilitator of Tradelinked Cairns-PNG-Pacific and Lyn Carlyle-Jacob, Director, EIIC will be managing this project.
The key objectives of the project are:
To understand and articulate the current capacity of FNQ businesses and organisations to service the Pacific and to highlight the region’s capability to continue to grow its service offering into Papua New Guinea, Bougainville, Solomon Islands and other Pacific markets.
To develop culturally appropriate Industry sector profiles and a long-term strategic direction for FNQ region to service the Pacific regions of Papua New Guinea, Bougainville, Solomon Islands and other Pacific destinations.
Tradelinked Cairns-PNG-Pacific acknowledges project funding support from the Queensland Government (Trade & Investment Queensland; Department of State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning) and Cairns Regional Council.
